Eulogy for Pam,
Mercy and Miracles..
CCHS BEST CLASS, THE CLASS OF 1975…
Happy 2026!
As we start into a new year I can’t stop but look back to my 10th grade year of high school. My parents made the decision to send me to Charleston Catholic. Being the dramatic teenage girl I just knew my life was NEVER going to be the same !!!
Fast forward 50 years...Let me tell you the best choice they EVER DID!!!
Here it is 50yrs later and my classmates are helping care me into the most challenging years of my life!!
The compassion and love they have shown in texts setting a go-fund-me for me and most of all their unconditional love!
Please know the CCHS 1975 class you are with me always!!
There is not a better eulogy for Pam than that Facebook post from January 2026. She was the Spirit of the Class of ’75. Working with her on 2 reunions, I think the only 2 I attended, she saw and loved her time at Catholic and with us, her class, as some of the happiest days of her life. She shared this love in how she kept us together. Her brother, Greg, said she has a way of pulling you in. She pulled me in.
The 50th reunion was her final gift. She was persistent to fulfill a vision of recreating those days at CCHS. Worried that it wouldn’t meet our expectations.
And then exuberant and overjoyed seeing all of us laugh, smile and reconnect. It was all she had hoped it would be.
The fight of her life was in front of her, yet her battles from the past were beginning to disappear.
Today we honor the Fighting Irish Spirit of the class of ’75, Pam. I will finish with words from the Heart of that Class that speaks for both of them.
Time Standing Still..
By the late Steve Suppa
Class President
I told you once that time stands still
When I see your smile, I see the thrills
You asked me why I must go
I answered you…It has to be so
Well then I say all things come to an end
That the cycle of life is starting to begin
That the times we shared are in the past
And the dreams we have are meant to last
I’ll tell you often, it has to be
That part of you is now part of me
The times we shared you cannot change
And I hope your life is now re-arranged
Everything I do, I give all of myself
My time to you is of my greatest wealth
The sun I say, will always rise
And I hope I’ve helped you open your eyes
For now you know there are two sides of this story
Our future happiness is what I seek, not the glory
Only for a moment, must time move on
You can’t replace what is never gone
I’ll say it again that time stands still
When your mind and heart possess the will
Time must move on, and for that you have grown
The memories of our time standing still
Are among the best I’ve ever known.
Pam Burton White made me give this eulogy. Miracles and Mercy. Peace. John.
